About Willsmer Wagg

Us in a nutshell

Willsmer Wagg has been distributing promotional merchandise and corporate gifts for over 25 years. We may have a lengthy list of achievements under our belt but the secret of our success is simple; we place you, the customer, at the centre of everything we do.

How we do it

We pride ourselves on having a large company’s expertise with a friendly agency feel, providing creative solutions and an eye for detail combined with the ability to see the bigger picture. And we do all this with an enthusiastic can-do attitude!

Don’t take our word for it

Blowing our own trumpet? Maybe! But we are one of the few companies to be awarded BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association) charter status.

To achieve this accreditation we have to adhere to the BPMA Charter Code of Practice and provide detailed, documented evidence of customer service and quality procedures within our business. We are also working hard to achieve ISO 14001 certification this year.

Who we work with

The Brief:

To source and supply a high quality room drop gift.

Target audience:  car dealers attending an award ceremony for the yearly awards presentation incentive programme.

The gift had to be sourced to a budget, have a wow factor and compliment the theme of the event which was James Bond 007.

The Gift:

We sourced a matt black box which was branded on the top with the clients logo , the gift box and contents were using corporate red shred, a martini glass, half a bottle of vodka, cocktail shaker,  bottle of olives, 2 dry martini miniatures and a fresh lemon.  The perfect ingredients to make a 007 dry martini cocktail (shaken, not stirred!). Each box contained its own bespoke printed cocktail recipe card and was delivered to each room with an invitation and running order of the evening.

The Response:

The Gifts received a really positive response from the dealers and mirrored the high quality well organised event which included a 3ft martini glass as the centre piece on each table. The company brand was associated with a bespoke, high end corporate gift which matched the theme, budget and promoted the brand.

The Client says:

“We wanted to find an appropriate gift for our guests at this prestigious awards night, something cool, classy and creative but also cost effective.  The team at Willsmer Wagg created the 007 Martini Hamper for us,  which proved to be a huge hit and perfectly complimented the theme of the event.”

The Brief:

Silverstone Circuits geared up for a fantastic summer of British motor sport with the help of its team of ‘Race Makers’. Inspired by the success of the London 2012 Olympics Games Makers, Silverstone recruited 105 volunteers to lend their support at two of the biggest motor sport events on the UK sporting calendar: the 2013 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix and the 2013 Hertz MotoGP™ British Grand Prix. Willsmer Wagg was asked to provide a uniform and merchandise for the volunteers, which had to be on budget and on brand for the new logo which was created especially for the Race Makers.

The Solution:

We sourced a uniform to suit all weathers,  in complimentary colours of fuchsia pink and turquoise blue to match the Race Maker branding: Baseball cap, Polo shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, and Waterproof Jacket. We also supplied a Drawstring bag, which was filled with the Race Maker’s individual name badge, a Water bottle and pens. Each uniform was individually bagged and labelled with the Race Makers name, and the kit contained instructions on how to/how not to  wear the uniform.

The Response:

The uniforms were very well received by the volunteers, which they were able to keep as a ‘Thank You’ gift for volunteering at the events. Dressed in a vibrant blue and pink uniform, the Race Makers were clearly visible to the thousands of fans coming through the Silverstone gates over the two race weekends, providing a helping hand and friendly face.

The Client Says:

"Debbie and the team at Willsmer Wagg have been a delight to work with. They took our initial brief on board and offered several solutions. After our first meeting, when sampling the products and colours, all of our further requests were met. The team worked to a very tight deadline for us which was achieved.  The uniform arrived for each individual which made the distribution of the uniform seamless. The uniform was greatly received by the Race Makers and was an outstanding success. I would have no hesitation in recommending Willsmer Wagg, in fact this is something I have already done.”

The Overview:

Atkins is one of the world's leading design, engineering and project management consultancies. We have worked with Atkins for more than 10 years, developing a merchandise scheme for them with a web store and working on special projects.

The Merchandise Scheme and Web Store:

We have developed a web shop with merchandise catalogue and online ordering system. The web shop can be used by authorised staff members from Atkins' offices across the globe to order standard corporate merchandise and seasonal gifts, or to communicate with Willsmer Wagg for special merchandise requests. The range includes low priced giveways such as pens and pencils, medium range gifts such as recycled plastic Memory Sticks and Umbrellas, up to high-end corporate gifts such as Moleskine notebooks and Cross Pens. All of the items on the site were selected to be environmentally and ethically sourced where possible. We react to special requests quickly and efficiently, and are also very proactive in monitoring the range, keeping an eye on stock levels and fast or slow moving lines, then suggesting new products and advising on how best to take Atkins' range forward.

The Special projects :

In 2009, a 23 metre long bridge constructed entirely of Meccano was unveiled in Liverpool. The bridge, which was created as part of the BBC 2 series James May's Toy Stories, was built using more than 100,000 pieces and included two moving sections, one of which measured 12m and lowered into place like a drawbridge. The idea came from three architectural students at Liverpool University, and was selected following a Dragon's Den-style pitch by five competing teams. The challenge of transforming their idea into reality fell to engineering consultant Atkins. To promote Atkins' involvement in the project, we were asked to source and supply Meccano kits which were overbranded with a printed sleeve. The Meccano kits were available to order through the web shop and was a hugely successful and popular promotion.
